Round Table: Financial Behavior and Sustainable Consumption

On Monday, December 23, 2024, a roundtable discussion titled "Financial Behavior and Sustainable Consumption" was held as part of the project "The Relationship Between Financial Behavior, Financial Well-Being, and Sustainable Consumption: A Multidimensional Analysis” (FIPOBA). This project is funded by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton.

The event was moderated by Assist. Anes Kadić, who shared some of the findings of the FIPOBA project at the beginning of the event. The event also featured distinguished guest speakers, including Dr. Edin Šabanović, Assistant Director of the Statistics Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Mr. Faruk Cerić, Ms. Amela Ikić-Suljagić, and Ms. Maja Lukić-Grabovac from the Sarajevo Economic Region Development Agency (SERDA).

Dr. Šabanović provided a statistical overview of household budgets, expenditure structures, purchasing power, and key consumption trends in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He highlighted the stratification of households based on factors such as composition, age, gender, education, and employment status. The representatives from SERDA shared insights from their own initiatives in the field of sustainable consumption, including green textile (clothing) practices, household waste management, and renewable energy solutions.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in discussions on how household financial structures operate, the challenges of integrating green and sustainable practices into daily life, and the ways in which such practices can reduce expenses and promote more efficient resource use.
